Our priority at Sensornet is putting the customer at the heart of everything we do to ensure we support them in developing new applications. Our most recent major project approves our DTS sensing systems to be used in the most rigorous Mining explosive environments. This opens new market potential for our customers.
To achieve ATEX certification, the products undergo rigorous testing to show that their laser energy level is kept under certain values, established to guarantee that it would not constitute source of ignition.
There are several levels of certification, which reflect different types of hazardous atmospheres (i.e. explosive gas or dust) or different operating conditions (i.e. considered safe only in working conditions or even in case of faults).
Sensonet has achieved the most extreme level for mining ATEX I (M1) certification which means our produce is safe to use in mining explosive gas atmospheres under normal working conditions and under fault conditions.
In order to achieve this level Sensornet design and manufacture must build the product to defined standards under a controlled system over and above ISO9000.
As manufacturer of ATEX products, Sensornet must meet the Quality Assurance Notification (QAN) Standards and is subject to periodic audits to assure the continue monitoring of systems and processes in relation to the ATEX products.
