Sensornet announces South America agent Morken SA

Morken SA specializes in providing equipment, materials and services, aimed to improve the transportation of gas, oil, petrochemicals and their derivatives. They offer a wide range of options for inspection, repair, maintenance or rehabilitation of pipelines, surface structures or subsurface pipelines and/or pumping plants, focusing on providing solutions for the early detection of corrosion.

Morken SA will represent Sensornet’s digital pipeline monitoring solutions, including pipeline leak detection, and pipeline integrity monitoring technology. These solutions provide total integrity throughout the pipeline network, ensuring efficient, safe and secure operation.

Sensornet has developed a full range of tools and technologies to give operators an absolute understanding of the integrity of the infrastructure to curtail financial, logistical and operational risks. From Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), which is based on temperature measurements using distributed fibre optic sensing technology to Distributed Strain Sensor (DSS), which is used to detect any flexing in pipes that may be caused by process and poor installation, the equipment offers a robust, reliable and real-time detection solution to detect both liquid and gaseous leaks.

Jerry Worsley, VP Downstream Process, Sensornet said: “Sensornet recognize that South America has become a highly attractive area for E&P opportunities and is becoming a key area for accessing critical energy resources. Aligning ourselves with Morken SA will ensure that we have highly-trained local contacts who will be able to support operators as their infrastructure continues to expand.”

Lothar Edelmuth, President Morken Argentina, CEO Bolivia & Peru, added: “Morken boasts more than 20 years experience pioneering in Argentina and neighbouring countries and like Sensornet, is a market leader in the development of state of the art technologies in oil and gas pipeline monitoring systems. Our representation of Sensornet in this region, not only articulates our combined strengths but also reinforces our unified commitment to delivering the most advanced solutions to our customer’s challenges.”
