Sensornet shortlisted for ONS innovation award

Sensornet has been shortlisted for the ONS 2008 Innovation Awards with their unique Digital Flow Profiling with Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) offering.
Award recipients are recognised for producing innovative and groundbreaking technologies which enhance the future of the international oil and gas industry.
Digital Flow Profiling with Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) is a revolutionary new technique used to determine distributed flow allocation profiles in deviated and horizontal wells in real time. The step-change technology combines the high performance Sentinel DTS surface acquisition unit and FloQuest data interpretation software.

The system provides continuous Production Logging Tool (PLT) type data in highly deviated and complex wells without the costs, risks and deferred production issues associated with conventional logging techniques. As well as monitoring the flow distribution in production and injection wells in real time, the system also provides information often not accessible with conventional PLTs. Such techniques often only provide a snapshot of what is really happening in the well and are potentially more expensive to run.
With a resolution of 0.01°C every one metre along the wellbore, the Sentinel DTS system is applicable in wells where many other permanent monitoring solutions fail to identify thermal events. The ability to provide updates every 10 seconds also allows transient events to be analysed, providing a new dimension in DTS interpretation.

Sensornet will be exhibiting at the Offshore Northern Seas Oil & Gas Exhibition 26-29 Aug, Stavanger, Norway. We will be in Hall J, stand 1018-7, in the Scottish Development Pavilion.
