Deloitte Fast 50 Award Winner

28 Oct 2009

Sensornet up to 23rd fastest growing technology company in the UK in the 2009 Deloitte Technology Fast 50

Sensornet, part of the Tendeka family, has moved up to 23rd place in the prestigious 2009 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK.

This latest ranking is an improvement of one place for Sensornet, which was listed 24th in last year’s awards. Rankings are based on average percentage revenue growth over five years.

Launched in 1998, Sensornet provides the world’s most advanced asset digital monitoring solutions, using high-tech fibre optic monitoring systems. The company delivers the complete digital monitoring package to the global oil and gas, power, and hydro industries, including offering its own temporary and permanent distributed sensing installation capability.  It is rapidly expanding and has offices based globally in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia.

Earlier this year Sensornet became part of the Tendeka family of companies which aims to consolidate specialist solutions for increased efficiency in well completions and production. Also within Tendeka are swellable elastomers expert Swellfix and wireless well communications, downhole instrumentation specialist Well Technology and unique sand face completion technologies provider, Flotech.

Sensornet General Manager Richard Kluth said: “We were very proud last year to make it into the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 list along with other successful British businesses, and we are delighted to have moved forward in the placing this year. Our higher ranking is a reflection of the way in which the business itself is going – upwards. It is also a clear indication that Sensornet’s track record of growth, ambition and technical innovation continues to be recognised within our own industry and beyond.

"Achieving sustained revenue growth over five years is a tremendous accomplishment, particularly in these most challenging times. It is a testament to the hard work and commitment from each member of our team.”

David Halstead, Partner leading the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, said: “In spite of the challenging financial market conditions, the 2009 Deloitte Fast 50 shows that stellar growth rates are still possible. The Technology Fast 50 awards are an opportunity for businesses to gain recognition for their successes and achievements over the previous 12 months.

“The importance of a company’s relationship with its customers is clear – listening to feedback and providing an excellent service are crucial in achieving these impressive levels of growth through a turbulent time for the sector.”

The Fast 50 list is compiled from Deloitte’s nominations submitted directly to the Fast 50, and public company database research.  Deloitte researchers examined financial statements to validate operating revenues.

Entrants must be public or private companies headquartered in a participating region of the UK and must be a “technology company,” defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.
