Sensornet announces creation of Silixa Ltd
Sensornet today announces the creation of a new independent UK-based company, Silixa Limited, by its founding directors Mahmoud Farhadiroushan and Tom Parker. Silixa will focus on developing the next generation of optical fibre sensing technology and will licence dormant Sensornet technology and work closely with Sensornet to offer new products and services.
Today’s announcement is seen as a positive and beneficial step forward for both companies. Neale Carter, CEO of Sensornet, states: “Sensornet is expanding rapidly and the partnership with Silixa is the ideal way to focus effort on next generation technology which is not core to Sensornet’s current business objectives. We look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with Silixa to the benefit of both companies”.
Mahmoud Farhadiroushan, founding director of Silixa, adds: “Optical fibres can offer many more benefits than what is achieved today and our aim with Silixa is to look beyond the current capabilities and incubate new concepts into future products. We are also looking forward to close cooperation with Sensornet to offer new ranges of products and services”.
Mahmoud and Tom will stay as non-Executive members of the Sensornet Board.
