Peter Bennett
Peter Bennett joined Sensornet in 2009 from Cambridge University where he was working on wireless and distributed optical fibre monitoring of civil infrastructure.
He currently oversees Sensornet’s new product development, production and supply chain.
Peter brings a wealth of experience in the field of optics having previously worked on fibre Bragg gratings in telecommunications, microstructured semiconductor lasers and novel optical fibres.
He has authored over 50 refereed publications and filed 2 patents. He was awarded the 2010 Telford gold medal, the Institution of Civil Engineering’s highest award for a paper. His work has been featured in the popular press, including the Financial Times and The Economist.
Peter is a chartered physicist with a Ph.D. from Southampton University, UK.
